Sapa terrace paddy field - sapa tours “Colourful Sapa” – the Sa Pa Street Festival will be held on 1st November at Sapa town in order to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Sapa Tourism. This year, the event which has been organized on a large scale may comprise lots of special activities.

The festival sees 450 participants including 300 students of the Lao Cai’s College of Culture – Arts and Tourism together with 150 art performers working in culture, sports and tourism sector. Local businesses and people will attend in the Colourful Sapa Festival, additionally.

What makes Sapa street festival different from others is its unique art shows performed in the parade with various themes of “Sa Pa flower forests”, “Sa Pa wine”, “H’Mong pan-pipe dancing”, “terrace paddy field Culture”, etc. The parade will move along the main streets of the town and stop to perform at Thac Son – Xuan Vien, Thach Son – Kim Dong, Kim Dong – Ngu Chi Son, Xuan Vien – Ngu Chi Son.

Especially, partaking in the Sapa Street Festival also gives chance for both domestic and foreign tourists to learn more about the traditional clothing, gastronomy, musical instruments ... of local ethnic groups from Sapa’s traditional handicraft villages.

With the aim of promoting local sustainable tourism, praising the locality’s intangible cultural heritage as well as preserving and upholding national cultural identity, Sapa Street Festival promises to welcome a large number of tourists enjoying the festival with fun and joy.
