The Wanderlust travel list to praise Hoi An
According to the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2015, the tourism hub of
Hoi An ancient town (in the central province of
Quang Nam) was proudly ranked fifth in the category with a 94.12 percent satisfaction rating from readers surveyed by the British travel magazine. Vietnam was listed in the Top Country category with a 94.56 percent rating.
In 2013, Wanderlust also praised Hoi An the world's top city in its Readers' Travel Awards. In 2012, the UNESCO-recognized world heritage city was shortlisted in the top Ten Asian Cities for US magazine Conde Nast's Traveler's Readers Choice Awards. The following year, the UN-Habitat Regional Office in Asia selected the city for the Townscape Award. Spreading out an area of 60sq.km, Hoi An owns 22.5sq. km of agriculture and forest land and 11sq.km of lakes and channels. Particularly, the central town took great pride to be listed in the 1st place in Vietnam to host a Car Free Day as well as to be the 1st destination in the central province launching the 3-R (reduce, reuse and recycle) program while promoting the use of reusable bags. |
